Special for Cold Beverages Only



It is very crucial to observe that, PLA compostable cups are made for cold liquids only. They are not resistant to heat and will soften under high temperatures. Thus, these Copas frías de PLA are very appropriate for cold drinks including ice but they should not be used with hot liquids. Also, in the case of transportation especially of those containers which may be subjected to heat, special insulation packaging has to be used since temperatures as low as 50-70 degrees Celsius may lead to softening of the cup.

Temperature Sensitivity
Compostable PLA cups can be constructed with the use of only standard virgin copolymer for these cups to serve cold drinks only. These cups cannot handle hot drinks because such drinks may soften or distort the integrity of the cup, due to heat. Beyond this, to ease the exposure, mainly in hot weather, cushions or any insulating material should be used to cover the cups to avoid them getting soft on exposure to heat.
